NICA Membership Directory
This annual publication includes reference information on all NICA members. Every regular member, associate member, and event member receives one copy with membership.
This monthly publication is included in all memberships. It contains personal interest stories, messages from the Board of Directors, information on current industry issues and concerns and advertising from many companies that support NICA’s programs, philosophy and events.
Food Show Program & Directory
Every year, NICA produces an event program and directory for the NICA/Fare Foods Food Show & Business Expo. It includes the exhibitors and advertisers who support NICA. Any member is welcome to call the NICA office to request a copy of the current program.
Each year the National Independent Concessionaires Foundation (NICF) awards scholarships annually. The top-ranked applicant receives the prestigious Coca-Cola sponsored Certified Concessionaire Executive Scholarship. To be eligible for these scholarships you must be a NICA regular member, a regular spousal member, an employee member, or the child or grandchild of a regular member. The application for 2015 will be available to fill out or download on-line at www.nicainc.org in January 2015. You may also call the office and request a copy be sent to you at that time.
The CCE program was developed to recognize the professionalism of concessionaires. The title of CCE represents a deep understanding and respect for the fair and festival business and indicates that the titleholder will perform with the highest level of professionalism. This prestigious designation is awarded only after a detailed application process has been successfully met.
The concessionaire who is seeking the distinction of Certified Concessionaire Executive must, prior to submitting their application, first meet the following requirements:
The applicant must be a current member of NICA and also a current member of one of the following associations – IAFE, IFEA or the WFA and at least one State Association.
The applicant must have a minimum of 7 years as a full-time chief operating manager of an independent concession business.
The applicant must then complete a lengthy 11-page questionnaire. The questionnaire uses a point system to determine their level of qualifications and industry involvement. They are also required to submit a 150-200 word personal philosophy of communication and management as it relates to the fair industry. The application, along with all of the accompanying documentation, is turned over to the NICA CCE Committee for rating and review. Once an applicant has been certified, said designation shall remain with him/her permanently unless revoked by the NICA Board of Directors. The CCE credentials are effective immediately. The official ceremony of presentation takes place during the Annual General Membership Meeting during Florida Week.
The Applicant must fax or physically mail the applications, supporting materials, and $90 administrative fee to the NICA Office by the October 1st deadline.
